I am a scholar and writer interested in political theory, intellectual history, and social theory. I’m currently a lecturer at the University of Chicago, where I mostly teach in the undergraduate social sciences core curriculum. I also received my PhD in political theory from Chicago, and before returning to the university taught at Yale and Oxford on postdoctoral fellowships.
My primary academic interests are in political and social theory, both historical and contemporary. Before going into academia, I worked as a political journalist, and I continue to write about contemporary politics for a general audience. My work has appeared in scholarly journals like Political Theory, Modern Intellectual History, and the American Political Science Review, as well as magazines like Dissent, The Nation, The New Republic, and n+1.
